I have latent Scrabble tendancies that tend to emerge in a wide array of situations and often perplex and frustrate those around me. Lately, I have found an outlet for this “gift” in the form of a little online game called Wordsnaps, found in the kids section of the CBC website. This addictive game can not only eat an evening with no trouble whatsoever, it also causes your mousehand to go numb after prolonged clicking.
All the same, it’s a good bit of fun and is probably good for me in some way. The bizarre spelling of some of the words leads me to believe that it’s a Scrabble dictionary-driven, as opposed to OED. It’s also screened for kids, but not particularly well at that. It won’t accept “tit”, “cock” or “ass” (the last two of which have meanings other than the teenage typical), but will allow boobs. Go figure.
More on the weekend later, when I get another chance to write.
