Compensatory Day

I’m working a day behind again, but here goes yesterday…..

Katherine and I decided to take advantage of a break in the lousy weather and headed out along the Father Troy Path of the East Coast Trail. Feeling self-indulgent, I decided to take only Wikket, instead of my usual canine entourage. Wikket will never run away, does not pull, bark, jump or in any way present a challenge to walk. Normally I take Moss as well, knowing that he will eventually improve with time, etc., etc., but this once, I took the easy road.

We had a marvelous walk. Saw lots of waves, said “hi” to the Newfoundland Ponies, threw rocks in water, took pictures and redirected a lost Ontario tourist. How he ended up on Torbay Beach when headed for the airport is beyond me. Luckily he had time to spare!

Katherine walked most of the way down and up a bit of the other side, but ran out of steam when going up the hill on the way home. She’s really starting to get big now, so I got a nice workout lugging her up hill and dale.

After that, she had a bite of lunch and went down for a nap like a pole-axed ox. So did I. When we awoke, it was time to go out to my folks’ for dinner.

All-in-all, a good day!
