A rose by any other name….
… would still attract slugs. Luckily mine seem to have gotten off relatively unmolested this year. Not so my poor delphinium. The rose above is a bud from “Peace”, which is fairing extraordinarily well this year and was only planted last summer.

No really good reason for these, other than that I am in awe of the variety and vibrancy of the flora that manages to find a toehold in this beautiful land of ours…. Iris unfurl their cloaks to worship the sun. As you can see, I have a thing about irises….
