“Why we keep her”, or “This is a Dr. Jekyll day”

I was (still am, actually, just taking a coffee break) working away frantically in my studio, trying out leaf printing with metallic paints on a hand-painted sky (more on this later, in the Seastrands blog) and was more than happy with the results. I hailed The Sprogget (as John calls her) who was working away at her train table to show her what I’d done.

Me: Look Katherine, I made leaves on the fabric with paint.

K: Oh my! How did you do that?

Me: I painted the leaves with my shiny paints and then used them like stamps.

K: Wow! That is so beautiful, Vicky. I really like that; you should make some more. Then we could sew them and paint them and make them into beautiful quilts. Would that be a great idea or what?

Me: Sounds like a plan. I’ll get back to it.

K: Okay. I have some work to do on my trains and then I’ll go and paint in the kitchen. Toby figured out how to get up Gordon’s Hill, but he still needs some help.

I’d ask when the other shoe will drop, but it did yesterday.
