A few weeks ago I made a small sweater for the son of a friend. I took a whack of photos, wrote up this blog post and then realized that I couldn’t post it without spoiling the surprise. After dropping off the sweater, I forgot entirely about the post!

So here is Daniel’s sweater , designed and made by moi. It’s sized for a 12-month-old and made from Cascade 220 Heathers wool, colour 2429 (I’ve heard it called “Ireland” green).

I’m currently working on writing up the pattern and including a couple of other sizes. When it’s done, it’ll be on Ravelry.

I was particularly happy with being able to blend the ribbing nicely into the cables, both at the hem and the collar. I also really like the button band, as I worked the button holes as the centre of a cabled twist.
