Better luck this time

Jaywalkers, in progress

After a less than positive sock start the other day (three starts, to be precise), I switched patterns and am making myself a pair of Jaywalkers.

It’s a simple pattern, well-fitted and definitely suited to this lovely merino yarn (G Rocks from Blue Moon Fiber Arts). Alternating rows are straight stocking stitch (that’s basic knitting) while the patterned rows are knit through front and back of 1 loop, knit seven ordinary stitches, slip two stitches as if to knit, knit 1, pass those two over, knit seven, knit through front and back of 1 loop, knit through front and back of 1 loop again, knit seven, etc. Very simple. Excellent for doing of an evening when you’re sitting around chatting.

  1. Wow, awesome colours. They’d make you quite visible in traffic, too.
