Today’s studio project is a pleasant change. I’m working with bright colours making a quilt of butterflies for my nephew-to-be.

The fish fabric was the colour inspiration and will be the backing. The flutterby bodies will be of the brown and the sky is the large swath of blue at bottom. The butterflies themselves will be composed of the various colours stacked together. The tentative plan is for analogously-hued flying gems, but who knows what will happen when I get playing with the colours!
