Spent some time over the past few days finishing up a batch of fibre that is supposed to be a heavier-weight yarn than I usually spin. Contrary to what innocent bystanders might think, spinning thicker yarn after having gotten into the groove of thinner yarn is quite tricky. I wanted this to have a lumpier, bumpier texture, without being really thick and thin. It’s two-ply for a bit more strength and wear (single-ply isn’t quite as strong and doesn’t handle rubbing quite as well).
I think it’ll do just fine. It’s roughly aran weight and should (if the fates and gauge are kind) yield a most of a hat (I have another yarn to use with it) and mitts.
