We have reached a new low in this house.
I am sitting here endeavouring to get some work done and Katherine is playing fetch.
Really.
I throw the tennis ball out into the hall and she brings it back. Her retrieve is pretty good.
She can even beat two of the dogs consistently. The third is often just a shade faster than she, but she keeps trying nonetheless.
I justify this as follows:
- it’s not television.
- she’s getting exercise.
- the dogs are having the whale of a time.
- I’m actually getting work done for the first time today.
Now to get back to it…..
Here, girl! Bring it here!
hey, whatever works!
Great for cardiovascular and gross motor skills, right?
Mine or hers? And yes, at this point, I’ll take whatever works!
There but for the grace of god! My husband and I got a hoot out of this entry — brings back vague yet vivid memories; he resolved to pass the idea on to a colleague with a daughter (and dog) of appropriate age. Honestly, I think it’s a brilliant strategy. We had only cats, and you wouldn’t believe how furious my girl, at 3, got every time (*EVERY* time) the cats beat her up the stairs to our apartment.
I think its great!! like you said its not TV, and she is getting exercise , its a win win situation 🙂
Have a great weekend !!
