“The snow doesn’t give a soft white damn whom it touches.”
― E.E. Cummings
A friend just posted another e.e. cummings quote (they do seem to pop out around Valentine’s Day, don’t they?) and I was reminded of the quote above about snow, that I saw recently on someone’s blog (cannot for the life of me remember whose). Since then, I’ve been unable to shake it from my head and have had a raging case of (and please, restrain your bawdy minds) cummings.
He’s such an optimistic and playful wordsmith; perfect for this time of year and rather like Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein for adults, all rolled into one delightful romp through the English language.
