There are so many things about photography that you can’t control.

You can’t control the weather.

You can’t control the actions of wild animals.

Fort Amherst
Fort Amherst and the lighthouse, silhouetted by light. The seagull flew in at just the right moment. Spent fifteen minutes trying to clean the flecks out of the sky in this shot and then gave it up. Cleaned the lenses (all of them) instead!

You can’t control when a sudden beam of light might penetrate the clouds and hit the water (although you might just be able to predict it with some alacrity).

But you CAN control whether your lenses are clean.

Smacking of self.

Cleaning of lenses.

Lesson learned.
