Some mornings…

The Stillness of Morning
Shot with a ND filter and a 1.5 second exposure (on a tripod, of course) at a small aperture to get the depth and crispness of the foliage. Looks very impressive when viewed large (click it to make this happen).

Some mornings you run because you feel guilty about what you ate yesterday or how your clothes fit this morning or because there’s a race coming up and you need to get the mileage in.

Some mornings you run because you need to get away from something or because you’re counting calories.

And some mornings you run because the world is suddenly alive with the subtle sounds and smells of spring and though the water on the pond is still, there is suddenly new life everywhere and you just want to be a part of it all (no matter how heavy your legs feel or what aches).

This was one of those mornings.

Note: Photos taken on the Long Pond trail. I finished my run and then dodged back to the car to grab the camera before the winds picked up!
